There are twelve twin-specific apps on the US App Store. Eight of them shipped their first version in 2025 or 2026, and their combined US rating count is about twenty. The best-known one, Twiniversity, sits at 2.1 stars from 10 US ratings and was last updated in October 2024. On Google Play the category is emptier still: two dedicated twin apps, one of them a read-only guidebook with no tracking at all. That is the honest state of the field, so this page compares the twin-native apps against the mainstream trackers twin parents already have on their phones.
Every cell in the table was checked on 5 September 2026 against a primary source — each app's App Store or Google Play listing, its own help centre, or its published release notes. Where something could not be verified, the table says "not verified" instead of guessing, because "we could not find it" is not the same as "the app does not do it". Prices are US storefront and change by region.
Disclosure: ProbaBaby publishes this page and is one of the six apps in the table. It has not been allowed to sweep. ProbaBaby loses the Android row, the App Store ratings row and the community row outright — it is iOS-only, requires iOS 26, and has zero US ratings against What to Expect's 378,809 — and it deliberately does not count kicks per baby, does not monitor growth discordance or TTTS, and has no NICU mode. Five of the seven awards below go to other apps, and one of them says our own paid tier is beaten on price.

This is a documentation review, not a hands-on install test, and it matters that we say which. Every competitor cell reflects what that company publishes about itself: its App Store or Google Play listing, its own help centre, its release notes, and Apple's iTunes Lookup API for ratings, versions, supported devices and languages. Everything was collected on 5 September 2026. Nobody on our team installed the five competitor apps, so no functional behaviour is claimed beyond what the vendor documents.
The ProbaBaby column is different in kind, and you should weigh it accordingly: it is read off the shipping version 1.0.4 build and its own engineering documentation, so we know more about our own app than about anyone else's. That asymmetry works in our favour on the feature rows and against us on the trust rows, which is roughly how it should be.
Ratings are: ✅ full (the feature is present and documented), ⚠️ partial (present but limited, undocumented in a key detail, or paywalled), ❌ none (we found no documentation of the feature on 5 September 2026). Some cells carry a value — price, platforms, star rating, languages — instead of a glyph. A ❌ against a competitor means an absence of evidence, not evidence of absence: several vendor help centres in this category block crawlers outright, and we have flagged those in the sources rather than paraphrase pages we could not read.
Two claims are deliberately phrased narrowly. On simultaneous timers, we say that no competitor here documents running two live per-baby timers at once and that several document the opposite — not that nobody can. On Apple Watch, we say that no twin app documents per-baby Watch tracking, Live Activities and Lock Screen widgets together — at least one twin-priced app not in this set does ship a Watch app. Ratings, prices and features move constantly; this page carries the date it was checked, and we correct it when an app ships a new version. If you find an error, tell us and we will fix it with the source.
There is now, but the category is much thinner than it looks. Twelve twin-specific apps exist on the US App Store and eight of them launched in 2025 or 2026, with about twenty US ratings between them. Only one twin-native app, Twiniversity, covers twin pregnancy at all — and it rates 2.1 stars from 10 ratings and has not been updated since October 2024. Everything else in the twin category starts at birth. That leaves two workable routes: a mainstream pregnancy app that acknowledges twins cosmetically (What to Expect's twin mode changes the size comparisons; Pregnancy+ changes five scan images), or an app that actually changes the pregnancy structure for twins — chorionicity, an adjusted delivery window and twin-specific weekly content. ProbaBaby is the app in this set that does the second thing, and it publishes this page, so read the table rather than the sentence.
On the evidence available on 5 September 2026, no competitor in this comparison documents two live per-baby timers running at the same time on one device, and several document the opposite. ProbaBaby does document it — two feeding or sleep sessions on one device, each with its own pause maths, its own saved entry and its own reminder. The two that document the opposite are explicit about it: TwinRoutine's "Log for Both" writes one action to two records, and Nighp's Baby Tracker FAQ describes a single background timer outright. One app outside this set, Twin Baby Feed Tracker, does claim a "Tandem Feed Timer" with dual timers, but it has zero ratings and the feature sits behind its paid tier. Note also that on Apple Watch ProbaBaby mirrors one session at a time by design — two live timers is an iPhone capability.
Baby Daybook, and it is not close. The dedicated twin category on Google Play is functionally empty: exhaustive searches on 5 September 2026 returned exactly two twin apps — Twiniversity at 1.5 stars from 81 reviews, last updated in October 2024, and SleepyTwins, whose Android build is a read-only guidebook with no tracking at all. Baby Daybook is a mature cross-platform tracker at 4.84 stars, markets twins and siblings as a feature, and uses corrected age for premature growth percentiles, which matters because more than half of twins are born preterm. Its catch is that family sync — the feature two exhausted caregivers actually need — sits in Premium. ProbaBaby cannot help you here: it is iOS-only and requires iOS 26.
Almost none of them do. Twin pregnancies are not usually carried to 40 weeks — NICE NG137 recommends planned birth at 37 weeks for uncomplicated dichorionic twins, 36 weeks for monochorionic diamniotic twins and 32+0–33+6 for monochorionic monoamniotic twins — but the mainstream apps keep counting to a single 40-week date. What to Expect's twin mode changes the baby-size comparisons; Pregnancy+ changes five scan images; Flo lets you say how many babies you are expecting and still shows one fetus. In this set only ProbaBaby moves the timeline, and it adds a twin target and window alongside your medical 40-week estimated due date rather than replacing it — your care team's date stays exactly where it is.
Chorionicity is whether your twins share a placenta and an amniotic sac — dichorionic diamniotic (DCDA, separate placentas), monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA, shared placenta), or monochorionic monoamniotic (MCMA, shared sac). It is determined from your 11–14 week scan, and it is the single fact that changes the most about a twin pregnancy: how often you are scanned and when birth is planned. NICE NG137 puts planned birth at 37 weeks for DCDA, 36 for MCDA and 32+0–33+6 for MCMA. An app asks for it because without it, every date it shows you is a singleton date. To our knowledge no other consumer pregnancy app records chorionicity at all — Flo's help centre returns no results for the word, and the only other product that names it, Twin Hearts, has no App Store or Google Play listing you can install from. In ProbaBaby you enter it by reading your scan report, and it is never framed as a medical question to answer yourself.
Yes. Babies are never paywalled: there is no cap on how many you add, no per-baby charge, and no premium tier gating the second one — that is a standing product rule, not a launch promotion. All the tracking, the twin pregnancy structure, the Compare tab, the per-baby widgets, Live Activities and the Apple Watch app are included. The only paid thing in the app is the genetic baby-appearance prediction, sold as credit packs. It is worth comparing that against the rest of this table: Twiniversity puts the whole app behind a subscription, Baby Daybook puts family sync in Premium at up to $99.99, and TwinRoutine charges $4.99 once — which is genuinely cheaper than our paid tier if a post-birth logbook is all you want.
ProbaBaby does, fully: it ships 32 languages including Turkish, and every twin string is translated — all 36 weekly twin notes, the chorionicity options, the twin medical-test cards and the corrected-age copy. Twiniversity and TwinRoutine are English-only according to Apple's own language metadata. Turkish support for What to Expect, Pregnancy+ and Baby Daybook was not verified in this sweep, so the table says "not verified" rather than claiming they lack it. In the wider twin category the picture is bleak: of the twelve dedicated twin apps only one is localised into Turkish, and on the Turkish storefront it renames itself without the word twins and has no Turkish ratings at all.
